Hayley Rutherford – Owner

Busy Bean Accounting started back in 2009 following a relocation from Yorkshire to the North West by Hayley.

With over 20 years of experience, Hayley has worked across a diverse range of industries, supporting both small, independently owned businesses and larger limited companies. This extensive experience has provided her with a deep understanding of the unique needs and accounting requirements of different businesses.

She is passionate about empowering small business owners to gain a clear understanding of their finances, equipping them with the confidence to maximize their company’s growth potential.

Her passion for accounting stems from an early love of mathematics, which led to a career in financial fraud investigation with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This experience inspired her to pursue a dedicated career in finance. She took the initiative to self-fund her studies in manual bookkeeping, followed by AAT qualifications.

Catherine Giles – Senior Bookkeeper

With over 25 years of experience, Catherine is dedicated to providing reliable, detail-oriented, and efficient bookkeeping solutions for businesses of all sizes. Catherine’s expertise spans a wide range of industries, and her commitment to precision ensures that your finances are always in safe hands.

Beyond her career, Catherine has a passion for holistic therapies, which reflect her belief in balance and well-being in all aspects of life. This passion inspires her work ethic, fostering a calm, centered, and approachable environment for her clients.

Hayley has been our bookkeeper and advisor for many years; she has helped me to understand how to set up and use Xero software, how to organise our accounts, how to deal with HMRC, and how to manage employee payroll and pensions.

I know that everything will always be in good order when Hayley is looking after things. Our end of year accounts have always been straightforward, because nothing is out of place. She is friendly and always willing to help. She is somebody who I trust 100%, and we could not imagine running the business without her.
